Pray. Research. Pray. Vote.

God,

We pray for strength for those who are weary ...

- for residents on the East Coast whose lives have been turned upside down by the storm Sandy, for first responders and National Guard troops and others trying to help
- for citizens weary of this four year presidential campaign and its vitriol and negativity
- for citizens who no longer trust their government to be forthright when they see statistics "adapted," required economic reports unfiled, and no straight answers to why an Ambassador and his staff were killed in Bengazi
- for soldiers far from home, serving our nation but always in harm's way
- for veterans who have returned from war and are dealing with unemployment, disability, strain on relationships, PTSD, and many other problems

We pray you would cause us to hope in you for our strength.  Give us rest where we need rest, courage where we need to act, and wisdom to know the difference.   In the places you call us to go, help us to run and not be weary.

In Jesus' name,
Amen

Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
    and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
    and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint. (Isa. 40:28-31 NIV)
