Righteous God,
Today we pray for the godly men and women you have bought into political office in this state. We pray that your children who are serving their constituents on township, school, or county boards, and those in the state legislature and state-wide offices would be only guided by Holy Spirit. May their thoughts be taken captive by you. May the words of their mouths be a reflection of their hearts. May their actions be with complete honesty and integrity. We know that any time a good man or woman seeks to step forward in faith and serve you in a civic office, the hounds of hell will come after them. We pray a strong shield of protection to be on these people - save them from the snare of evil ideas and corrupt mindsets. May they always seek and know your wisdom and discernment, to hear your Voice and to follow what it tells them to do. Cover them with your protecting wings so that they find refuge and know your faithfulness is their shield and rampart. Guide and protect their families and provide them with good and faithful friends and encouragers. God, we know that, especially now, the war of evil against your People and your Church has escalated; but we know that we do not wage war as the world does. Our weapons are your Spirit's power, authority, and strength to demolish the entirety of the massively corrupt culture. So, we pray that these civic leaders and your Church would use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, and fitting every loose thought, emotion, and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. By the power of the name of Jesus, we pray that you would demolish all strongholds that seek to distract, tear down, and destroy your Will and your Way. We pray in the strong name of Christ that the spirits of darkness and lies in our state would bound and have no influence. Help us use the spiritual tools you have given us to clear the ground of every obstruction and build just and righteous governments that honor you. Rise up the intercessors of your Church to step forward and stand in the gap for these people. We pray for mercy, favor, and wisdom to be poured out and that Warriors of Truth would arise. In Christ's name we pray, Amen.
