Psalm 24 Prayer

Illuminating God,

We give you thanks and praise for the wonder and beauty of this world.  Thank you for the call on each of our lives to live in the Light of your Word - to love You and others and to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.  Currently in this world we are living through a great time of chaos and unknowns.  Dark forces of fear, anger, hatred, division, and destruction have been unleashed upon the world; yet your Word says that you are not a God of confusion or disorder, but a God of Peace.  So, we pray against these spirits from darkness and pray instead that your Peace would flood our hearts and this world.  Yet, we know that only those who have clean hands and pure hearts, those who do not lift up their souls to what is false, can come into your presence.  We pray that you would convict all of your children - and even those who are not following you - of the darkness within their hearts and help them to instead turn to your Light.  Pour out your Holy Spirit in Revival and Awakening that our generation will be a generation to seek your face.  You are the Lord, strong and mighty in battle, King of Glory, Lord of Hosts!  Flood our generation with your Light, your Life, and your Peace.  In the name of Christ we pray, Amen!

24
The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
    and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord, strong and mighty,
    the Lord, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah
