January 1, 2021 Prayer - Faithful God's Will Be Done

 Faithful God,

Thank you for the faith you have placed within each of us when we know you as Lord and Savior.  Thank you for Holy Spirit whose witness within us guides us to all righteousness, when we have spiritual ears to listen and soft hearts to follow.  Thank you that you who have begun a good work within us will be faithful to complete it - whether that is within individual believers, your Church as a whole, and/or our nation and world.  Thank you for the confidence we can have that your plans for us and the future are good - plans for peace and hope, not disaster and misery.  Thank you that even when our circumstances are rough, your Word is true and your heart toward us is merciful and just.  On this quiet, maybe even reflective, first day of 2021, help us to remember and look forward to the future with hope because of your faithfulness.  Help us to know that, whatever comes our way, you can use it for your good and your glory. But help us to remember that you have called us, your children, to pray and intercede for your Kingdom purposes.  Let us not grow weary in prayer, but persevere to help your Kingdom come as we declare that your will WILL be done.  In Christ's name and for his glory we pray, Amen.

"Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart."  (Psalm 51:6 ESV)

"I’m convinced that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it through to completion on the day of Christ Jesus." (Php. 1:6 GW)

"I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope." (Jer. 29:11 GW)

"Behold, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it?
Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert." (Isa. 43:19 Ber.)

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." (Rom. 8:28 NLT)

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Gal. 6:9 NIV)

"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (Matthew 6:10 ESV)
