December 3, 2020 Prayer - 20/20 Vision

 

 Timeless God,

Thank you for being the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow - the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.  Thank you that the chaos of 2020 did not catch you by surprise; you have been faithful to your children through the midst of great upheaval and even great trial.  Thank you that you have been and will use this time for our good when we seek your plan and your purpose.  Many of us are "so done" with this year that we just want to move into 2021 prematurely.  But you have ordained each and every day.  Instead of running away from the upheaval and chaos of this year, we run to you for your perfect ("20/20") vision for these remaining 28 days.  We know that you have and will place us in places where we can make a difference in this time.  So, help us be a blessing and help to others around us.  Help us see widows, orphans, the sick, the hungry, the lonely, the anxious or fearful, and others that we can minister to in your name.  Give us your vision for these last 28 days so that we can run with endurance the race set before us, giving honor to Christ Jesus our Lord.  We pray in his name, Amen.

"And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of [a]witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].  Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."  (Hebrews 12:1-3 AMP)
