Psalm 53 Prayer

You are God alone, who looks down from heaven on all mankind searching for those who seek you and your Kingdom first.  Today we pray for those fools who believe there is no God; we pray they would come to know the One, True God.  We pray against the vile schemes and corruption present in this world and pray you would thwart these schemes. Help your church not be overcome with dread when there is nothing to dread; your Word says we are "more than conquerers" through Christ Jesus! Restore your people to Hope, Faith, and Courage for the facing of this hour.  Let us see your salvation and your restoration!  We praise you and look forward to the day in which every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.  In the meantime, Holy Spirit, come and strengthen your Church and your People to stand against the evil in this day and hour.  In Jesus's name we pray, Amen.

Psalm 53

The fool says in his heart,

    “There is no God.”

They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;

    there is no one who does good.

God looks down from heaven

    on all mankind

to see if there are any who understand,

    any who seek God.

Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;

    there is no one who does good,

    not even one.

Do all these evildoers know nothing?

They devour my people as though eating bread;

    they never call on God.

But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,

    where there was nothing to dread.

God scattered the bones of those who attacked you;

    you put them to shame, for God despised them.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!

    When God restores his people,

    let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
